Spring 2009 Show News:
We looked at every date 5-7 months after our last show in November, which would put our next show somewhere between April 1st to mid-June. After extensive research at every date, this is what we found:
1) Some dates conflicted with other comic book shows on the West Coast
2) There are four weekends with holidays
3) There are several weekends with major events both inside and outside the comic book field: Free Comic Book Day, The Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade and Rose Cup Race. A few years ago we did a show on the same day as the Rose Cup Race and we were very surprised how many comic book fans that are also race car fans.
4) Some dates are not available at the Memorial Coliseum.

The end result is there is not a single good date that would insure a successful show. Rather than organize a show with a poor date that conflicts with something else, we've made the very difficult decision to skip promoting a spring 2009 show.
We have been able to secure a Spring 2010 date.
We appreciate the support of fans, exhibitors and creators of the Portland Comic Book Show and look forward to seeing everyone at our next show on November 15, 2009.
